Kelly Clarkson

KellyKelly Clarkson, in full Kelly Brianne Clarkson, (born April 24, 1982, Fort Worth, Texas, U.S.), American artist, singer, and TV host who became known as a pop-rock star after winning the popular television talent competition American Idol in 2002. Clarkson was born in Burleson Texas (a town located just outside in Fort Worth), where her talents in singing were initially noticed by her seventh grade class teacher. Clarkson dropped out of high school to go to Los Angeles where she failed to get a job in the entertainment industry. She was selected to participate in the Fox Broadcasting Co.'s American Idol singing competition, which allowed viewers the opportunity to cast their vote on their favourite artist. Clarkson was loved by viewers for her charismatic voice and funny sense of humor. Clarkson took home $1 million and also a contract recording deal in partnership with RCA for her winnings.
