Dolly Parton, born Jan. 19th, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. to twelve poor children that would be raised with them eventually. She learned early how to get out of difficulties thanks to her incredibly creative imagination. Prior to learning how to read and compose the first song she ever composed, she was composing the music she composed herself. She got her first guitar at the age of 8 and began singing on an Knoxville Tenn radio station at eleven years old. The same year, she recorded her debut album on Gold Band Records an independent small label. Despite being in college, she already established herself on the local scene. But her dream was to become more known. The singer moved to Nashville following her graduation in 1964. Dumb Blonde was her first single to reach the top of the charts on Monument Records. In the year 1967, Porter Wagoner was looking for a new girl singer for his television show that was syndicated. Parton was found in the year 1967 and signed by RCA Records by 1968, becoming a member of the Grand Ole Opry. In 1974, she quit the show because of the success of her own songs such as Joshua Coats Of Many Colors or Jolene was way ahead of their joint release. Parton following the breakup of their collaboration with Wagoner She wrote her hit song"I Will Never Love You and had it reach the top spot at No. #1 for the first time in 1974.
