Harry Edward Styles, known in the world of music by the name of Harry Styles, is a British musician and singer who is regarded as one of the members of the band One Direction. Harry Styles was born in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire, England on the 1st of February 1994. He's the child of Des Styles and Anne Cox. Harry Styles studied at the Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School, which is where he formed his own group of musicians with three classmates, which was dubbed the White Eskimo. They took home the Battle of Bands in 2009 due to their impressive performance. While he's always fascinated by music, he also aspired to become an lawyer or an physiotherapist. He worked in a local bakery part-time in order to provide for his family. Harry Styles performed Is not She Lovely (Stevie Wonder) at the 2010 auditions to The X Factor. This meant that his group had to be disbanded. Following the audition on The X Factor the jury Nicole Scherzinger suggested that Harry Styles join the band to be dubbed One Direction along with Liam Payne Zayn Malik Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson. The group's creation began in 2010 and the five youngsters were supported by Simon Cowell. They sang the Kelly Clarkson song My Life Would Be Sucky Without You and Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart at the time of the contest. This helped them become one of the frontrunners to win the contest. They were however 3rd place, in the third place, behind Rebecca Ferguson and winner Matt Cardle. Harry Styles' group didn't place, but Cowell did pay two million dollars to One Direction for them to sign a deal with Syco.
